I wouldn't mark this innovation as a success yet, but as the device features a touchscreen with a virtual keyboard, the keypad making only as a secondary choice for typing.Īnother annoying thing that I have noticed is the fact that the rubber stripe which covers the video port found on the right side of the device isn't firmly stuck. This keypad should replace the now dedicated QWERTY keyboard that cannot miss from a well-built Pocket PC. ![]() Unfortunately, the keys don't have dual functionalities, so either you push on the left, right or center of a key you'll get the same result. The i-mate has the same layout only that, on the left side of the key, there is a group of three letters, while on the right side, a number. For those that don't know, Sony Ericsson M600's features two letters on each of its keys, so depending on what part of the key you push (left or right), you can use either of the letters. The keypad is indeed weird, but only if you haven?t got the chance to play with a Sony Ericsson M600 that features almost the same layout. At first glance, i-mate Ultimate 8150 may look like a smartphone with keypad, but at a closer look, you'll discover that it features a large TFT touchscreen, which is one of the main characteristics of these days Pocket PC's. ![]()
